As was proudly announced at the recent Inman Connect 2008 in San Francisco, the 1st place winners of the Makeover2Takeover Contest were Apprentice Brian Block of RE/MAX Allegiance in Alexandria VA, and Mentor Desiree Daniels with RE/MAX Tri-County in Hamilton NJ.

The premise for this contest was simple: We selected 15 'Makeover' Teams, comprised of a seasoned real estate veteran (Mentor), and their chosen apprentice. Over the course of 8 weeks (leading up to the 2008 SF Inman Connect), the Mentor/Apprentices faced a series of weekly elimination challenges, aimed specifically at developing the apprentice's image/skills/abilities as a top performing real estate agent.
The final three remaining teams were then invited to be our guests at the 2008 Inman Connect in San Francisco. They were Jeanette Neerpat & Midori Miller, Kim Wood & Missy Caulk, and Brian Block & Desiree Daniels.
During the Connect festivities, Jeanette & Midori were awarded 3rd place, while Kim & Missy garnered 2nd place.
For 8 long, grueling weeks, the dynamic duo of Team Manna battled head-to-head with the other teams, and throughout the contest, consistently submitted some of the best challenge materials, enabling them to come away as the event's clear winner!
As the 1st Place winners for the Makeover2Takeover Contest, Brian & Desiree will receive the following Web 2.0 Marketing Package:
A professionally produced high-quality Business Profile Video from Turn Here, Inc., (courtesy of Inman News)
One year paid subscription to ActiveRain (Mixpo) Video Editing Suite

Congratulations and thanks to Brian and Dez, to all the participants, to the judges, and to the sponsors. They learned, we learned, and the blogosphere got a little better.
Congratulations Dez and Brian!
I hope the tools you created will continue to benefit both your businesses! Your winnings are good but the visit to SF and getting to know all the Rainers had to be the best. We have all ended up winners in the end.
Real Estate is an art. You both proved to be great artists! I am honored to have run along side of you and I thank the judges for all their time and effort. Thank you Rich for all that you gave the contest.

By allowing us to share in your experiences, your knowledge and your successes, we too, have been educated and enriched!
Thanks, and the best of success to each you!
Desiree and Brian is such an awesome team and I feel so honored to be in the top 3. To me the best part was everything was time sensitive...although it was lots of pressure...but well worth every drop of sweat, worth a few tears...and a few temper tantrums.
This contest pushed me harder than ever...and even now I seem to not be able to get out of this pace. :) As I reflect and look back..(reviewing our work)....I was reminded a few things...details matter...use spell check and most of all..1 word doc does not mean 1 page, so I am a goofball.
I think all the teams did an awesome job and it took courage...ambition and definitely guts to enter and participate in this contest.
Every week we were sweating it..and waiting..waiting for the announcement. I have to say...I am proud to know and compete with each team.
I think my favorite part of the entire contest was the video's that the mentors had to do too and the stress we all felt. Made for some great phone conversations! :)
I thought that Brian and Desiree were always top notch and they brought their A game on throughtout the contest. Congrats guys your win was well deserved!
Thanks Rich you did an awesome job with our questions...with the communication and also for making it fun! Thanks Activerain..it was a great opportunity and it definitely changed my life.

Rich... this is awesome. I couldn't keep up with every blog from each team, just because I was busy. But this was good... Question... what about doing something like this for loan officers? You usually need a mortgage to buy a home... right?
Congratulations to all the participants. Based on what I saw, it looks like they were all winners, one way or another.
Congratulations to AR for putting together a great group of judges.
Jeff: We've actually been discussing this, and I think the next event we do like this, will involve our LO members....
