Okay, so here's the deal:
We want to know YOUR story. Create a post that tells us what you've experienced, what you've learned; how you've benefited from your participation here; the friendships you've made; the ways you've grown personally.
Be creative. Put together a video, a podcast, a slideshow. The more creative the medium, the better. Enusre that the medium directly relates to your story - a video of you talking about ActiveRain; a slideshow that shows why you value and appreciate our community, etc.
Everyone who submits a link to their story here in the 'comments section' of this post will automatically receive 200 points. Make a 'Slide Show' and receive an additional 300 points, a podcast gets 500 more, and a video earns a whopping 800 additional points. ![]()
Several of the more creative and engaging stories may get featured, earning even more extra points. We mignt even decide to use some of these stories to highlight on our ActiveRain HomePage at a later date.
So get BUSY! What's YOUR Story?

Rich,
That's a tall order for someone not very familar with how to use technology. But, I will give it a shot. Later.
aj
Will work on it, well it won't really be work, and it should write itself. Would like to find the time to learn how to put together a video like BB does, or how to do a slideshow we don't have to build from scratch... We're adding this to our already deep do-list.
Don Rich, has a ring to it, huh?
That's a whopping 1500 points available for a tech savvy blogger... Do you double it if it's featured...? LOL
On a serious note it is a nice incentive for anyone that has been considering learning some of these techniques.
Rich,
I have never been associated with such a fine group of "Professionals" in my life! The lessons learned from others inside of Active Rain have been invaluable to myself and our company. It`s amazing the community that you`ve built, the past two years!
The networking, referrals, and lead generation, has helped increase our business by 30%.
Try getting that from Google.com or Yahoo.com pay-per-click.
I personally want to tell anyone who has just started in "Active Rain" to feel free to ask questions, majority of the members here are always available to assist you.
Woohoo! A testimonial post
contest!Hey....points and features....woohoo!Count me in...but...uhmmm...technically challenged over here needs some good sites for video etc..like maybe something my kids could navigate ??? lol !
Kate - No specific deadline. I don't want to pressure all those creative juices!
Rich,
are there any blogs you can recommend on how to do some of what you are asking? I still having figured out how to get a YOUTUBE into my blog.
aj
This is not new, but it speaks to my ActiveRain successes, as measured by closed transactions. Not sure there's anything to add.

Waving Hand...... Excuse me, I have a question.....
You can reply here with your typed story but you can't leave a video, podcast or a slideshow in the comments ..........hmmmmm, or can you?
I have heard tales of the value of ActiveRain. That is why I joined. I am very excited so far. I will be sure to let everyone know how and when it helps me.
Rich, I just posted this success story last week...
http://activerain.com/blogsview/341014/My-Best-Blogging-Day
Rich,
This is my story, and I'm sticking to it...you AR gods are gobbling up too many 'feature' stars!!! LOL Thanks, Fran
Gracious Rich...
So...Let me get this straight. It's not a contest and if I produce a silly video of my experiences thus far you'll give me 800 points?
TLW...ROAR!
shucks...it's not a contest? Shucks...don't know how to do a video... that's okay...the stories will be fun to read....or watch...
Rich,
The points and features are a nice gesture but not a big deal to me. I'll have to think of something but because I am relatively busy all of a sudden... I'm not sure what I'll come up with
Sally - I expect somethin' really good from you!
(what the HECK is cochin-goraka? Some kind of Japanese appetizer?)
TLW - 800 plus the 200 you normally receive. Yeppers! You got it right! Walk in the park for you!
('cupu-assu'...sounds like a cuss word in Arabic)
Hey Rich! I need some more points, so here is my contest entry....

Thanks
Don Bradbury
We built a great service for REALTORS and in reading a lot of the posts AR has reaffirmed that many talented professionals serve their customers in an exemplary manner. We are excited to have the opportunity to support the real estate community. (AR provides the forum for eagles to soar with eagles).
Have a great 2008.
I will have to keep my eye on this. Maybe I can learn something that will improve my use of technology.
Other Common Names: Cochin-goraka
A medium-sized tree from Southeast Asia, it makes an attractive ornamental with its 18" glossy, pendulous leaves. The fruit is yellow with acid pulp and two large seeds. Propagated by seed.

Sally 'Woo-Hoo' got points. Brian Lloyd got points. AJ Nisen got points!
Just to clarify: The videos and slideshows need to be specifically related to Your Story, preferrably like Brian Lloyd did.

Active Rain and Blogging.....can it be better than sliced bread?
Rich,
So happy to see that you and ActiveRain have a sense of humor! To everyone; I didn't pay attention to the directions and as a result ended up with a username that, while I use it a lot on several sites (mainly because I chose not be be 'patrick1234554321'), I didn't think that it was appropriate given the fact that the 'public' would be aware of it. So I submitted a 'ticket,' pleading for release from my transgression. Now I can't get into the particulars of what was in my 'ticket,' but Rich took pity rather then booting me and allowed the correction.
Thanks Rich

PS If you are old enough to recall Pig Latin you may be able to figure it out!
Just listened to your archived BTR broadcast expaining web 2.0 as part of the Social netwoking episode and it was the best explanation I have heard...I actually think I understand it now!
