"Reaching Out in the Rain!" - Building Our Community

(For Your listeing pleasure while you read)

Okay, so in one of my recent posts, I gave everyone a homework assignment (and you thought you'd seen the last of homework!).

Well, today, I thought it would be fun to challenge everyone once again to "Bring Back the Love," and to "Reach Out in the Rain!"

What I'm asking you to do is to call two ActiveRain members by this Friday.

I want you to call one NEW member, maybe someone in your market area, city, county, or State, that has just recently joined, and welcome them personally to the Network.

Then call one of the OLDER veteran members, perhaps someone who has been silent or Missing-In-Action of late. Tell them their presence/voice has been missed, and kindly invite them to 'step' back into the Rain.

One of the true hallmarks of this community's amazing success has been our collective ability to develop and nuture meaningful relationships in the Rain.

So go ahead, make your calls. Leave a comment here about 'who' you talked to and how the converstions went. It will be fun to read the results....

.....and feel "The Power of Love!"....

Great, now I have to play catch up.  I still haven't called Lucky Contestant Number One.  3 people by Friday?  That's manana you know.  Hmmmmmmmm.....time to play catch up:-(

Okay, I called mia member yesterday and had a wonderful conversation with him ! He is doing well. He has a lot if things he is trying to work through and was so thankful I oould lend an ear and a shoulder for him. His mind is in a fog and I reinforced to him he is amongst family and friends here in the Rain. He will be back when he is in a better state of mind. I am helping him work on a few things and sorry but a lot of the conversation has to stay confidential as I promised. In his time, in his way, he will be back to fill everyone in. Just know he is doing well, wished his best to everyone and will see us all in the rain as soon as he can !

LOL @ BB and Jeff Link. It was fun coming into the rain and seeing that we still have smart alacks hanging around :) 

Okay. So tomorrow I will get on the phone and make a few calls. 

I am actually going to reach out to a handful of MIA's. I'll see if I can twist their arms and not hurt them :)

I've spoken with two old members who don't participate.

I've spoken with 3 regulars and gave out two referrals.

I'm recruiting another new member and dangling a referral in front of them. 

I spoke with one old member who has never posted. 

I spoke with one long member and purchased their software.

All this week. 

It was fun.

Called my new member...  found someone local who joined in the last few days...

Hey can I get extra credit (not points... I don't need no stinkin points...) I called a new member a week or so ago and offered help on how to do links and embed code.  An oldie but a goody who has not been around, who to call...  who to call...

I talked to a new member yesterday (not local, called me with a referral..)

  So I'm calling Jeff Belonger for some advice with a client.....

I emailed Mark Flanders a few days ago.  He said "someone" had been telling him to get back in the rain.... hopefully he will.

but then there is pressure to get off the phone. I enjoy having as much time as I need with people and not feeling rushed :)

If the contest is who can get the most people to write a post about the call without asking them to, I am in :)

There is so much love and support on Active Rain it is unreal. I just got my real estate license last April and around September/October I was at a low point and very discouraged. I did a post call New Agent Blues, and within hours had about 25 posts of encouragement and support. One person even called me AT HOME! Then right around Thanksiving , Missy Caulk in Ann Arbor Mi blogged that she was trying to decide whether to switch companys because her office was about to go under( she did switch). She got almost 200 replys with advice and encouragement. Real estate is not the dog eat dog profession I had feared when I got into it. Or maybe only the best belong to Active Rain!

Rich- I call folks on the Rain all the time. I have made some great friends and I am blessed that I can pick up the phone and call a friend on the rain. I am late to your post, but I will still call as you suggested in your post. Katerina
